When packing for a golf trip overseas you always have to keep in mind your baggage allowance – these days more so than ever with different airlines charging for clubs and checked in baggage. The cannier among you will now try to pack clothes into their hand luggage – and this is where the people at Sub 70 can help you out.
The 2013 summer collection not only looks good but the lightweight quality material they use means you can pack quite a few outfits, so you don’t have to compromise when it comes to looking good on the course.
I had three rounds of golf to play in Portugal and because of the weather in May you’re never really sure until the day you play what it’s going to be like. I choose three shirts, one pair of trousers and a pair of shorts that all match, plus a tank top. I always wear one of these as I find it keeps my back muscles warm and helps my swing and of course no outfit today is complete without that stand-out leather belt.

The Sub 70 polo shirts all use the Climitac® moisture management fabric, which is a lightweight breathable material that give the shirt a great soft feel. The trousers use another lightweight micro polyestersoft fabric which also has some spandex added to it – so the trousers stretch with you during your golf swing.
The tank top knitwear is made from 100% mercerized cotton, and as I stated earlier I tend to use these to keep my back warm, even on hot days.
The belt uses a matte finish leather and has a brushed steel effect buckle, the belt loop is help near the buckle with a thin piece of cloth simple but very effective bit of design.
Golf is all about fun and I must say I do like the 70s throwback tartan trousers. Golf is now moving out of its stuffy phase where 70-year-old men used to sit in clubhouses and tut-tut at anything that moved. Fashion is now a big part of golf, – looking good is as much apart of the game as playing well.
Sub 70 have produced a great range of clothing for this summer and with a bit of forethought you can buy several outfits by using a similar mix to the one I used for my Portugal trip. The lightweight materials mean you’re not going to get stung at the airport for excess baggage and if necessary you can get them all into your hand luggage and still have plenty of room for your laptop and headphones.
Golf is a great game in the summer – it’s when the sport comes into its own. It's a also a fun game and fashion has added to that. Sub 70 are one of the companies leading the way in golf fashion and with some great prices I would recommend their apparel.
Go and take a look at their website – you’ll be glad you did.
